Once again, the feature that everyone in the community looked forward to was the six teams of oxen and their owners that arrive from the Central Valley of California. The owners carry sweet bread and wine in their carts and distribute this along the parade.

A special highlight of this year's Festa featured the first 3rd generation to serve as St. Anthony in the annual Procession. Eight-year-old Devin Moura represented St. Anthony, the Patron Saint of Portugal, in the same manner as his grandfather, Tom Moura did in 1950, and his father, Anthony Moura did in 1980.

Special thanks from the Lovelock Portuguese Committee for all the help that is generously given by so many so that this successful event can take place each year.
