The Measure of a Man is not defined by how rich or important he is, rather it is the little acts of unseen love and acts of kindness which defines him, in the hearts of those his life touches.
On March 26, 2014, local resident Timothy McGrath passed away at home with his wife of over 25 years at his side. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Timothy was born on Aug. 27, 1959 in Teneck, N.J. to John and Katherine McGrath.
He grew up there before moving to Wyoming to work in the oil fields in 1980.
Tim met and married his wife Dorothy on Oct. 20, 1988 in Delta, Colo. They moved to Battle Mountain in 1990 where Tim worked in the local area mines as a welder and steel worker.
They were the parents of two children Patrick and Hillary, both residents of Battle Mountain.
Tim was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing and spending time in the mountains with family and friends. He was proud of his Irish-American heritage and passed that pride on to his children and grandchildren.
Timothy is survived by his wife Dorothy, son Patrick and his wife Emily McGrath, daughter Hillary and her husband Andy Di Simone and their three daughters Ramielle, Brooklynn and Laelah Di Simone, all of Battle Mountain. His brother Kevin McGrath of Gillette, Wyo., sisters Maureen and husband Joe Sweeney, Eileen Nix and Kathleen Alexander all of Highland Lakes, N.J., as well as brothers- and sisters-in-law and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Katherine McGrath.
A memorial service is scheduled on April 11, 2014 at Lion's Park in Battle Mountain with a potluck barbeque. The family is providing the meat.[[In-content Ad]]
