WINNEMUCCA - Lowry High School's Jesse Studebaker, Calvin Connors and Josh Watterson were named to the Ruby Mountain League first team, as selected by the league's six coaches.
The trio helped Lowry to a 21-7 record overall and an 8-2 mark in league play, as the Buckaroos advanced to the state tournament for the fifth consecutive season. Lowry lost 68-53 to eventual state champion Desert Pines in the semifinals this past weekend in Las Vegas.
Elko's Chris Klekas and Nathan Klekas were named the Coach of the Year and Most Valuable Player, respectively, for the second consecutive season.
The Indians' Brian Pearson, Brandon Jenkins and Marshall Dumas rounded out the first-team choices.
Lowry sophomore Garrett Naveran and junior Tytus Millikan were second-team selections, along with Elko's Tim Meo and Tubby Rasch, Spring Creek's Caden Gunnell and West Wendover's Roman Chavez.
The honorable mention team included Battle Mountain's Dominic Valles, White Pine's Ty Pickel and Seth Lester, Spring Creek's Star Ita and Jaysen Woodland and West Wendover's Adrian Enriquez.
Battle Mountain's Daniel Itza was named to the Division III first team in the Ruby Mountain League. White Pine's Nicholas Johnson and West Wendover's John Sharp were named the Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively. West Wendover's Kayden Sharp, Kylar Sharp and Manuel Flores completed the first team.
The second team and honorable mention selections are a combination of the three Division I-A schools and the three Division III squads.
