Third annual Louie Peraldo Golf tournament to take place Sept. 13

The Frontier Community Coalition is hosting the third annual Louie Peraldo Memorial Golf tournament to honor longtime Winnemucca resident Louie Peraldo, who passed away in 2008.

The tournament will take place Saturday, Sept. 13, beginning at 8 a.m. at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course. Entry fee is $40 per person including, tri-tip lunch, a swag bag, custom towel and two raffle tickets.

The 72-person scramble (18 teams - four people a team) is a memorial for Peraldo, who was an active member of the community from the time he moved here in 1944 un til his death in 2008. The tournament will consist of four-person teams for a total of 18 teams. Spots are still open for the tournament.

All proceeds from the Louie Peraldo Memorial Family Golf Tournament will go directly to children and family services that the Coalition supports in Humboldt, Lander and Pershing counties.

Among these services are Project MAGIC for high-risk youth, the Parenting Project, Diabetes Self-Management education, Responsible Beverage Server Training, Longhorn Youth Team. Zion's Afterschool Youth Center, Youth Career Fair, Life is Good Girls Group, Lowry High Academic Assembly, Tri-County Foster Care Training and Assistance, Jacob's Well Youth Center in Battle Mountain, Tri-County Drug Free Graduation and the Peer Counseling Training Project.

Additionally, the FCC is active in combating underage drinking and supporting such groups as DARE in the elementary schools. In 2014, FCC provided six scholarships for graduating seniors throughout the three communities.

The charity event will also feature a raffle. In addition, if a player makes a hole-in-one, he or she will win an ATV.[[In-content Ad]]
