WINNEMUCCA - Lowry High School volleyball players Paige Thiede and Ere Higbee were named to the Ruby Mountain League first team for the fall season.
In addition, the duo was selected to the honorable mention all-state team.
Filling out the all-league, first team was Elko's Kelsie Gailey and Josalyn Harris and Spring Creek's Cassandra Sarman and Selu 'Ita. Spring Creek's Krista Langhans was named the Most Valuable Player.
Juliana Velasco was selected to the second team in her freshman campaign. The second team and honorable mention picks were combined with the Division III schools.
The second team included Battle Mountain's Daisy Hernandez, White Pine's Trasie Heggie and Heather Christensen, Elko's Shaeli Wilson and Spring Creek's Anissa Archuleta.
Lowry's Rachel Sigurdson collected honorable mention status, along with Battle Mountain's Brooklyn Quintana, Spring Creek's Kailey Leavitt, Elko's Olivia Howe, White Pine's Anna Nicholes and West Wendover's Karina Correa.
Battle Mountain's Abbie Mikelson was named the Division III Player of the Year for the league. The Lady Longhorns put three players on the first team including, Hannah Hale, Kalin Nelson and Amanda Wallock. White Pine's Haidn Windous and Alli Huntington and West Wendover's Sadie Brunner rounded out the first-team selections.
