By 2:30 p.m. on March 3, 10 candidates had filed for local offices, seven of which were incumbents.
The three newcomers to enter the races were Nicholas Love for Lander County Commission District Two, Sean Bakker for Lander County Commission District Five and Ted Herrera for Lander County district attorney. Herrera is currently the public defender.
Incumbent Dave Mason is running against Bakker to retain his commission seat. Lander County Sheriff Ron Unger was the only one to file for his office by the afternoon of March 3.
Idonna Trevino, the current Lander County recorder, had filed. Current Treasurer Grace Powrie registered along with Clerk Sadie Sullivan.
Assessor Lura Duvall had also filed to retain her position and Todd Thompson, who serves for area four of the Lander County School Board, had filed for his position.
