Take it outside and snowshoe

ELKO - Join other outdoor enthusiasts for nighttime snowshoeing (or hiking) around Angel Creek Campground near Well on Saturday, Feb. 15 beginning at 6 p.m.

The Elko District, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service and Cedar Creek Clothing are teaming up for the second of three winter moonlight snowshoe hikes.

This hike is for all ages and skill levels to participate. The event will last approximately two hours.

Snowshoers should meet at the Angel Creek Campground, eight miles south of Wells on State Route 231 at 6 p.m. (From Elko, take exit 351 and make an immediate right until you see the sign to the campground).

One more hike is planned for March 15 in the Cedar Ridge Wilderness Study Area near Jiggs.

Snowshoes, provided free by Cedar Creek Clothing, are available for the first 50 people who register. You can register at the BLM office at 3900 Idaho St.; Cedar Creek Clothing at 453 Idaho St.; or the U.S. Forest Service at 140 Pacific in Wells.
