Sylvia Doris Smith passed away Aug. 19, 2014. She was born Feb. 2, 1937, to Julio and Dominica Laucirica. She was born and raised in Winnemucca, Nev., where she attended Humboldt County High School. She then attended Links Business College in Boise.
She worked at several local Winnemucca businesses including Links Accounting, Wards, and the Hotel Humboldt.
She married Gene Smith Nov. 23, 1964. They had one son, George Robert Smith. They both worked for a private contractor on a US Military base in Vietnam. After returning to the states they made their home in Tonopah, Palm Springs and then Fallon, Nev. In Fallon they ran the Arctic Circle.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Linda Zugazaga, and husband Gene.
She is survived by her son Bob, granddaughter Alexis, sisters Velma Martin, Loraine Laucirica and numerous nieces, nephew, aunts and cousins.
