WINNEMUCCA - The wrap-up party for the Humboldt County Library's Summer Reading Program will be held on Friday, Aug. 2, in the back parking lot near the children's department.

The festivities are set to begin at 10 a.m. We will announce the top reader and grand prize winners as well as provide fun activities and carnival style games. There will also be numerous door prize drawings which you must be present to win.

Those who have signed up and participated in this year's programs have read impressive amounts, library officials said. Between the Humboldt County Library, bookmobile, and Denio and McDermitt branch libraries, there were 543 children who signed up for the program. Those children read more than 9,000 books for over 300,000 minutes between them. Congratulations, readers!

The Humboldt County Library would like to send special thanks for the support from the amazing public, our wonderful donators, and our outstanding volunteers. This year's program would not have been possible without all of you.

Keep your eyes open for our book clubs which will be returning in September for kindergartners through high school seniors. We will also be hosting a new program on Saturdays. Storytimes and Baby Bounce will remain at their usual weekly time.

To sign up early for any of these programs, please call Jessica Anderson or Becca Hawley at (775) 623-6388 or sign up in the children's library located at 85 East 5th Street in Winnemucca.

Don't forget to "Like" the Humboldt County Library on Facebook and stay up to date on all of the fun activities and programs happening at the library, as well as browse our photos from past events.
