NOS is offering many summer camps and programming in the upcoming months. The next available camp is Adventure Camp 2, which is open to all boys and girls who are entering sixth through eighth grade. The camp will run from July 9 - 14 and will have two overnight campouts at beautiful Lye Creek Campground in the Santa Rosa Mountains. Monday through Wednesday will be full of local exploration and team building.

Campers will even have an opportunity to serve as a special audience to Dr. Doug Hogan of Great Basin College for a live animal presentation, swim at Bode Howard Memorial Pool, take a look at the Winnemucca Community Garden and even go bowling at Spare Time Bowling Center!

On Thursday, July 12, the group will head out to Lye Creek Campground in Paradise Valley and spend the next two days practicing survival skills, discovering outdoor hobbies, testing the water in Lye Creek and much more! Campers will also participate in a night hike and star gazing while having the opportunity to perform skits around a campfire.

To conclude a wonderful week of adventure, on Saturday, Nevada Outdoor School will partner with the Forest Service and Friends of Nevada Wilderness to participate in a stewardship project.

Campers will learn about stewardship by painting picnic tables and helping with various maintenance tasks at this popular campground. Although campers will be participating in the stewardship, the event is family friendly and all local community members are welcome to join the project on Saturday, July 14.

Campers' parents and family members are encouraged to join and help ensure a great conclusion to a fun-filled week at Adventure Camp.

The total cost for Adventure Camp 2 is $45. Families who are interested in financial assistance for this camp fee, please contact NOS at your earliest convenience.

If you have any questions or would like to register your child for Adventure Camp 2, please e-mail info@nevadaoutdoorschool.org or call the office at 623-5656.
