Student reviews the past year

Lowry Leadership -

WINNEMUCCA - The year 2013 was jam-packed with events, memories and new faces for the Leadership year - or, should I say, family here at Lowry High School.

At the bittersweet close of last year, the class saw the departure of the beloved seniors who had been a part of the program and the coming of the young, enthusiastic freshman who still have much to learn about what they got themselves into when signing up for the life of a leader.

So far, the future leaders of our community have been inducted into class and student body offices, experienced a summer Leadership seminar put on by the wonderful Tanya Grady, been bused to Tonopah for the regional conference in October, and many attended the State Conference Elko hosted in April.

Through blood, sweat and tears, these young adults have organized, decorated and planned for many major events.

These events range from the Homecoming and Winterfest festivities that include the selection of royalty, the various ceremonies, and of course the dances. As well as an entire "Black Tie Affair" for their peers, and the hours of work put into the annual Assembly of Excellence cannot be forgotten. However, the hours of hard work do not simply end there; these students have also done work at various community functions, and have held their annual Christmas food and blood drives which took place in December.

Overall, the amount of work that these young adults have put into everything not only makes the halls of Lowry High School, but the community as a whole a better place! As a member of the Leadership program myself, I know that we wouldn't have it any other way.

Lowry Leadership is excited to make the year 2014 as great or even better than the year 2013![[In-content Ad]]
