WINNEMUCCA - Lowry High School's Jesse Studebaker was the lone Buckaroo named to the Ruby Mountain League first team, as selected by the league's six coaches.

Studebaker helped Lowry to a 22-6 record overall and a 7-3 mark in league play, as the Buckaroos won their first state championship in 10 years this past Saturday with a 52-48 victory over Elko at Lawlor Events Center. It was the 11th state title in school history.

Elko's Chris Klekas and Nathan Klekas were named the Coach of the Year and Most Valuable Player, respectively. The Indians' Alan Honeyestewa was also named to the first team.

West Wendover, who won the 2A state championship last weekend, had two players in Chuy Limon and Corey Bostock chosen to the first team. Spring Creek's Tavin Archuleta was the other choice on the first team.

Lowry sophomores Calvin Connors and Josh Watterson were second-team choices, along with Elko's Dajuan Natty, Spring Creek's Jacob McLeod and West Wendover's Avery Arrien.

The Buckaroos' Brandon Eastman was named to the honorable mention team. That group included Elko's Marshall Dumas and Tim Meo, White Pine's Jarret Coulber and Levi Valdez, West Wendover's Sean McGahey, Spring Creek's Cedric Zumwalt and Battle Mountain's Marco Rangel.
