Stremler wins saddle bronc events for Humboldt County Rodeo Club

Brown earns rookie cowgirl honors

WINNEMUCCA - Humboldt County's Clay Stremler claimed first place in the saddle bronc riding with 60 points this past Saturday, as the Humboldt County Rodeo Club competed in Yerington.

In the second performance on Sunday, Stremler finished second to Chance Guerrero with a score of 67 points.

Savannah Montero had two top-10 finishes on Saturday, including a third-place finish in the breakaway roping in a time of 3.82 seconds. In addition, she was fourth in girls cutting with a score of 68.5.

Montero continued with a second-place finish in Sunday's goat tying with a time of 7.49. Sydney Howard won the event at 7.02. In addition, Montero was seventh in the girls cutting with 64 points and she placed eighth in the breakaway roping at 3.75.

Emalee Brown posted two top-10 finishes in the breakaway roping, placing sixth on Saturday at 4.66 and ninth on Sunday in a time of 4.08. Brown was named the rookie cowgirl for Saturday's performance.

Josh Dufurrena was sixth in Sunday's calf roping with a time of 18.26. He teamed up with Dakota Feyder to finish in the top 10 of team roping in both performances. The duo were eighth on Saturday in a time of 29.64 and they were fourth on Sunday at 23.74.

Luke and Jake Logan also placed in the top 10 of both performances of the team roping, starting with a third-place outing on Saturday in a time of 12.16. They finished the weekend with a ninth-place outing at 37.01.

Randi Buchanan and Kaleb Ennis were named the all-around cowgirl and all-around cowboy, respectively, on Saturday. Rachel Hendrix and Dakota Feyder were the reserve cowgirl and cowboy and Brown and Cord Hendrix won the rookie honors.

On Sunday, Rachel Hendrix and Wyatt Denny won all-around cowgirl and cowboy honors. Buchanan and Feyder claimed the reserve honors and Emilie Barnes and Cord Hendrix took the rookie awards.

The club is off this weekend and returns to action on Friday, April 19, in Douglas County for three days of competition.
