WINNEMUCCA - The Winnemucca City Council will hold its next meeting on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at city hall. Public comment will follow the Pledge of Allegiance and approval of minutes.
Items on the agenda include a zoning variance request to allow an increase of fence height from 6 feet to 8 feet at a property between Anderson and McShee Street off Railroad Street; a request for overhead power service at 227 Garrison St.; a temporary street closure request at Maple Avenue between Modoc Drive and Museum Lane on June 9 - 10 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day for the Country and Bluegrass Festival; temporary street closure request on Kluncy Canyon Road (directly in front of Lowry High School) on Monday, April 30, from 12:45 p.m. to 2 p.m. for the Every Fifteen Minutes Youth Drinking and Driving Awareness Program.
Councilmen will also consider a request to use Vesco City Park on Wednesday, July 4, for annual holiday activities; a softball tournament fee waiver request for May 12 - 13 for the Winnemucca Youth Softball Tournament; a request to use Nixon lawn on June 9 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. for an outdoor dance (Winnemucca Basque Festival) and a request from the Winnemucca Police Department stating that a 2002 Dodge Intrepid is no longer required for public use and authorization to sell it at public auction.
Staff and council reports will follow, as well as another opportunity for public comment.
