I have climbed the mountain and reached the top. I have met my Lord and Savior, my journey has stopped. I leave behind my family and friends but I'll be here to guide them when their journey ends.
Stillman Curtis Jones, age 84, passed away at Humboldt General Hospital in Winnemucca on Jan. 22, 2013.
Born Aug.7, 1928 to Mr. and Mrs. Francis Jones of Two Dot, Mont., Stillman attended Harlowton High School where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Jo Brammer in 1949.
After working as a beekeeper, Stillman worked for Dutch Collins and Ray Hinand in the grocery business in Harlowton, Mont., until 1958 when he purchased a general store in Martinsdale, Mont. There he lived with his wife, Bev and two sons, Greg and Jeff Jones.
Stillman and Bev remained in Martinsdale until 1983 at which time they sold the Martinsdale Merc and moved to Harlowton. In Harlowton, Stillman worked for 24 years as the Continental National Bank auditor, retiring at the age of 82 in 2009. Stillman and Bev remained in Harlowton until 2010 at which time they moved to Winnemucca to be closer to family.
Stillman enjoyed many things. His favorites were hunting and fishing and anything to do with the outdoors. He especially enjoyed golfing after he moved to the "City", Harlowton.
Stillman was very civic minded. He never hesitated to contribute to the community as he served on numerous boards and community projects both in Martinsdale and Harlowton throughout the years. He was a member of the Federated Church, serving as a board member and as financial officer for many years.
Stillman is survived by his wife, Beverly Jones, his two sons, Greg (Holly) Jones of Winnemucca and his son Jeff Jones and Ron Spilde, of Aberdeen, S.D., two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held in Montana at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial gifts to Humboldt Volunteer Hospice, P.O. Box 843 Winnemucca, NV 89446.
