Nevada's small schools decided their state football champions this past Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas.
Pahranagat Valley extended the nation's longest winning streak to 81 games, with a 66-14 victory over Spring Mountain on Friday night in the Division IV championship in Las Vegas.
It is the seven consecutive title for the Panthers and ninth in the last 10 years.
Yerington won its second staright title in Division III, with a 45-14 win over The Meadows on Saturday afternoon at Bishop Gorman High School.
The Lions led 9-7 at halftime, but used a 21-0 run in the third quarter to pull away and were not challenged after that.
The Division I-A title game proved to be one of the wildest in recent memory. Desert Pines led Moapa Valley 36-14 after three quarters of play.
However, the Pirates outscored the Jaguars 22-0 in the fourth quarter to send the contest to overtime.
Moapa Valley scored on its first play of the extra period to lead 42-36 and Desert Pines fumbled on its first play, ending the game.
It's Moapa Valley's 16th state title and first since 2008.
The Division I semifinals take place this Saturday. Reed will face Carson for the North title and Bishop Gorman faces Liberty in the South.
The championship is Dec. 6 at Damonte Ranch High School.
