IMLAY - Star Peak Art Retreat is hosting a one-woman art show at its gallery in Imlay.

Over 25 art pieces of Oreana artist Carolyn Baker are being featured at the show.

"This is an accumulation of works I've done, some as far back as the 1970s," Baker said.

"She has some beautiful pieces," Star Peak Art Retreat proprietor Jerry Ellen Cannizzaro said.

Baker has been producing art for over 70 years. She won her first art contest at the age of six, she said. There will be sculptures in soapstone and steatite, along with paintings in various mediums on display at the show.

A reception for the artist will take place on July 14 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

The gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a lunch break from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The gallery is closed on Mondays.

The Star Peak Art Retreat is located just east of the I-80, Imlay exit 145. From the Imlay exit, in either direction, just turn east. The retreat and gallery are located on a hill easily seen from the highway.[[In-content Ad]]
