Organizers of the Silver State International Rodeo announced winners of the 2014 Fourth of July parade, which took place on Winnemucca Boulevard.
The judges for the parade were Michelle Miller, Debbie Hicks and Rene Hill and it was announced by Joyce Sheen.
The first-place trophy in the color guard went to the Civil Air Patrol. In the political entry, Todd Plimpton for District Court Judge was third, re-elect Kilgore for sheriff was second (the judges really liked the boat in the parade) and the first place trophy went to Mike Allen for Sheriff (the judges liked the amount of effort and spirit they saw in this political float).
Veterans of Foreign War High Desert Post 12116 won the organizational float and Winnemucca Masonic Lodge No. 19 was second. Iron Horses and Machinery Club was the winner in the antique vehicles and farm equipment category and Jeep Junkies of Winnemucca were first in car club.
The youth float trophy went to Miss Winnemucca High Desert Queen Ambassadors, which included Kayleigh Marshall, Mia Gerhard, Nevaeh Gerhard and Audry Mason.
The equine mounted group winners were the Miss Winnemucca High Desert Rodeo Queens, including queen Bailey Reynolds, teen queen Audrey VanBuren and junior princess Trynity Reid.
The Lowry High School cheerleaders took the top spot in the best novelty class and the Winnemucca Rural Fire Department won for best fire truck. BLM Fire Truck and Smokey Bear was second and Nevada Division of Forestry was third.
RE/MAX Great Basin Realty was first in the best commercial float, Humboldt General Hospital EMS Rescue was second and A-1 Towing was third.
The best rodeo team went to Canada, California was second and Nevada third and Miss Washington, Chantelle Carter was the best-dressed cowgirl. Miss Montana, McKayla McNamara was second and Miss Utah, McKenna Lynn Hales was third.
The Sweepstakes Trophy, which is for the best overall entry went to team Canada.
The Silver State International Rodeo committee would like to thank everyone who made the parade another huge success.
