WINNEMUCCA - The Frugal Flamingo Thrift Shop truly believes that "one man's trash is another man's treasure."
That's why the second-hand shop is issuing a call for donations during local residents' spring cleaning.
"Bring your unwanted items to the Frugal Flamingo," said Humboldt Volunteer Hospice Executive Director Sherry Smith, "we'll take them. Or, if you're having a garage sale and you don't know what to do with the leftover items, we'll take those too."
All profits from the Frugal Flamingo support the Humboldt Volunteer Hospice in its mission to honor and support individuals in the Humboldt County community who are suffering from a chronic, debilitating or terminal illness.
All hospice care is provided at no cost to patients. Families do not need a doctor's referral in order to access hospice services.
"All donations are important because we can sell them and make a profit," said Smith. "That's how we meet the needs of our patients."
The Frugal Flamingo Thrift Store is located at 720 E. Fourth St. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Donations are gladly accepted during the store's hours of operation.
