Editor,
Cancer at Christmas - could the timing be any worse? I just want to mention a few things that may help your loved one to have a happy holiday season.
Plan on doing something for them like bringing over a small tree, a wreath for the door, decorations for the home and best of all take the decorations down after the holiday season. You could also help address and mail Christmas greeting cards and you could even bring over a holiday feast, complete with a holiday tablecloth and napkins.
Some suggested gift ideas while going through treatments could be: audio books and movies, crossword puzzles, pajamas, socks, slippers, robes, lotions, a gift certificate for a massage, manicure or pedicure, and hard candy (it helps get rid of the metal taste).
So, during this Christmas season please remember all of those who are struggling with this dreadful disease and especially remember the ones that have lost their battle.

Merry Christmas!
