What better way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day than with a huge feast, where people can pig out on plates filled spaghetti, salad and garlic bread. The meal will be capped off with punch, coffee and dessert.
St. John Bosco's Annual St. Patrick's Day Spaghetti Dinner and cedar chest raffle is a fundraiser being held by the Altar Society. It will be held at 6 p.m. on March 15 in the St. John Bosco Catholic Church Hall at 384 S. Reese St.
"We're hoping to get a good crown this year," Altar Society President Laurie Pluemer said.
The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. Wine and water can be purchased at the event. Take-out is available.
There will be bingo following the dinner with cash prizes. There will also be raffles with the main prize being a cedar chest filled with household items.
People do not have to be present to win. Other raffle prizes will include gas cards, bed pillows and wine glasses.
Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. They are available from any church member, Etcheverry's Foodtown or at the dinner. They can also be purchased by calling Pluemer at (775) 635-0614. Those who wish to donate raffle prizes can also call Pluemer.
Last year, around $3,300 was raised. The money raised by the event will go toward the Easter egg hunt, scholarships, church supplies, Thanksgiving baskets and more.
"Please come and join us for a night of fun for the whole family," Pluemer said.[[In-content Ad]]
