WINNEMUCCA - The Senior Citizens of Humboldt County Inc. Board of Trustees was notified by mail last week that the senior center is the selected recipient of the Southwest Gas employee charitable giving program.
The 2012 Fuel for Life campaign raised $898.61 for the Pleasant Senior Center. Funds will be contributed from employee pledges directly to the Pleasant Senior Center programs on a monthly basis.
Officials with the Pleasant Senior Center said they are proud to be collaborating with Southwest Gas, making meaningful differences in the lives of those we serve. We recognize that the effort begins with the local employees themselves. It is each employee's choice to donate, and their choice where their donations go.
The monthly funding will be used to support the four programs run by the center, which include the homebound delivery meals program, the congregate meals served at the center daily, the elderly and disabled transit programs, and the social service programs for seniors.
"We really appreciate the community involvement shown by Southwest Gas employees, and are very happy to be their choice as a community service partner" said Tom Brissenden, chairman of the board of trustees.
