MICHAEL MICHAELSEN • Special to the Sun
Holiday music was in the air Friday at the Pleasant Senior Center in Winnemucca during an evening concert arranged by the local Rotary club. The Swinging Seniors did festive renditions of a number of Christmas favorites for an appreciative and sizable crowd. They were joined by a quintet of musicians, who also entertained with holiday favorites and a few non-holiday tunes, such as the Beatles "When I'm 64." One of the quintet's members, Dave Munk, said the group formed in the spring of this year, and they don't have an official name yet. The players include Ed Andrews on Tuba, Dave Munk on the French horn, Mike Bumgartner on trumpet, Benjamin Munk on trombone and Joan Munk on flugelhorn.
