Small loans available through program

Western Nevada Development District offers small rural community businesses, loans through their Business Microloan Program. The goal of the program is to provide capital needed to encourage economic growth and support the establishment of new businesses and expansion of existing businesses to create jobs in Western Nevada.

Authorized use of funds includes equipment purchase, lease improvements, machinery/supplies; business enlargement, repair, modernization, or development; purchasing and development of land, easements, rights-of-way, building, facilities, leases or materials; start-up operating costs and working capital.

Loans provided through the USDA Rural Development RBEG, range from $4,000 to $5,000. Loans through the City of

Fernley and the Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development CDBG can be made up to $50,000. Loans provided through the CDBG fund are required to create at least one full-time low to moderate income job for every $35,000 loaned.
