Skeen appointed key licensee by Nevada Gaming Control Board

American Wagering, Inc. (AWI) is the parent company of Leroy's Sportsbook, the largest independent sportsbook operator in Nevada, and Computerized Bookmaking Systems, Inc., the U.S. leading provider of race and sports technology and leading U.S. provider of mobile wagering technology.

Skeen has served as the general manger of Sturgeon's since 2009. During his tenure, he has significantly increased the performance of the property and its profitability. Skeen also serves as the chairman of the Pershing County Tourism Board.

Skeen's extensive casino career includes vice president of slot operations at Treasure Island Resort in Las Vegas. He was also director of slot & marketing operations for the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino. Skeen was responsible for the casino transition of the Flamingo-Laughlin to the Aquarius and was also director of slot development at Mikohn Gaming.

His career included three years as vice president of Operations for 777 Gaming where he oversaw the receivership of six northern Nevada bankrupt properties. Skeen graduated from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
