WINNEMUCCA - Silver State Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star welcomed the state officers and other guests for their official visit of grand officers on Sunday, April 7. During the visit members of the local chapter exemplified their ritual work and introduced the visitors.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a check for over $1,800 to the state officers to be given to the charities supported by the Nevada Order of the Eastern Star.
These charities included UNR Cancer Research, Alzheimer's, the OES Endowment Fund, Dollars for Masonic Scholars, the Benevolence Fund, ESTARL Scholarships (for students going into the ministry) and the OES Homes Board.
Each year the Order of the Eastern Star worldwide donates millions of dollars for numerous projects to benefit mankind. Silver State members are proud to be a part of this effort.
