Silver State Chapter No. 6, Order of the Eastern Star, honored members who have served the order for many years recently with pins for 25, 40 and 60 years. Especially honored were Johann Lyon for 25 years, Patty and Norm Couturier for 40 years each, Dorothy Brinkoetter for 40 years and Margurite Powrie for 60 years. Margurite actually received her pin in Fallon at Myrtle Chapter's official visit, since that is her first chapter, but she also belongs to Silver State. When all of the others present were counted the chapter had more than 600 years of service among the members. Silver State Chapter celebrated its 119th birthday May 23. Above, those recognized for their many years of service include, left to right, Patty Couturier (40 years), Dorothy Brinkoetter (40 years), Worthy Matron Linda Prawitz, Worthy Patron Mike Giles, Marguerite Powrie (60 years), Johann Lyon (25 years) and Norman Couturier (40 years).
