WINNEMUCCA - Sophomore Rachel Sigurdson took home the top spot in the pole vault last weekend in Fallon, as the Lowry High School track and field team competed at the Northern 3A regional championships.
Sigurdson cleared 8 feet, 9 inches, to win the event. She was tied with Elko's Natalie Wright but was first on fewer misses. The sophomore also competed in the high jump and finished eighth at 4-06.
Raven Black earned a spot in the state championships, as she finished tied for third in the high jump at 4-08 with Churchill County's Abigail Belbin. In addition, the junior placed ninth in the pole vault, clearing 6-06.
