Battle Mountain Junior High School teacher Keesha Averett brought some of her students to Winnemucca March 9 to attend "Shooting the West." The popular photography event featured workshops, shows and contests and exhibits and vendors. Al Petteway and Amy White, extraordinary musicians and photographers from North Carolina, were also featured this year, as was former combat photographer Stacy Pearsall, who earned a Bronze Star and NPPA Military Photographer of the Year honors.
