Shirley Davis was born on November 23, 1925 to Gregory and Rose Rufli Johnson in Battle Mountain, Nevada and passed away on Feb. 4, 2014 in Lovelock, Nevada.
She was raised on a ranch near Battle Mountain. She went to Fallon and stayed with relatives while attending Churchill County High School. When the medical profession opened the field for nurse-practitioners, Shirley went to North Dakota to study and then to Gillette, Wyoming where she practiced her new skills for a short time. She then returned to Lovelock and worked there until she retired.
She married Nile (Dave) Davis in 1960 and helped raise his son, Nile Jr. Shirley was an active member in Eastern Star. She loved to camp and was an avid fisherman. Her love for cats led to several utterly spoiled felines living the good life.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her stepchildren, Nile Davis Jr. and Sharron Montes, five grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew.
Burial will take place in Lovelock and a memorial will take place at a later date. Arrangements are with Smith Family Funeral Home in Fallon.[[In-content Ad]]
