Sheriff Ed Kilgore (left) took the opportunity during the last Humboldt County Commission meeting to give special thanks to two deputies for their cool heads in a crisis situation, saying their actions saved a life. Deputies Dave Walls and Steve Radmanovich responded to a March 17 domestic disturbance. At the Warmouth-area residence, the deputies said a man with a shotgun threatened to harm them as well as harm himself, but they were able to calm him down, and convince him to surrender the weapon. Sheriff Kilgore said the skill and experience exhibited by the deputies earned the respect and commendation of the sheriff's office.
