Sheldon James Morrison 72, passed away Feb. 22, 2014.
Sheldon was born December 11, 1941 in Reno, Nevada to Leona J. Damele-Morrison and Wesley James Morrison.
Sheldon was raised on 3 Bar Ranch outside Eureka, Nevada until the age of 10, when he moved to Idaho.
Sheldon went to school in Idaho for the next 4 years, where he met the love of his life Joanie Pooley. They continued their long distance relationship, when Sheldon moved back to Eureka for his Junior and Senior years and Joanie still lived in Idaho.
After Sheldon graduated from Eureka in 1959, he went to Heavy Equipment School
in Wieser, Idaho. Sheldon joined the Air Force in 1962 as a Flight Maintenance Mechanic on C130's. Sheldon and Joanie married on June 23, 1962 at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Nampa, Idaho. Sheldon was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1966 and decided to make his home in Battle Mountain, Nevada, where he and Joanie raised their 2 daughters. Sheldon went to work for Duval Corp in 1966 and worked there until his retirement in 1994.
Sheldon had many hobbies. He loved to fly his airplane, drive 18 wheelers, go camping and fishing and was a very passionate about golf. Sheldon was also very passionate about cars, especially his 1958 Chevy pickup "Ole Blue" that he bought when he was 16.
Sheldon is survived by his loving wife Joanie, daughters Shelley and Rhonda, grandson Taylor, Brother Randy (Cindy) Eckman, Sister Glenda (Bruce) Connolly, any cousins, brother and sister in laws, niece and nephews.
A rosary will be held Friday 7:00 p.m. at St. John Bosco Church. Services will be Saturday 1:30 p.m. at the church with a procession to the cemetery afterwards. A reception will be held immediately following at the Church hall.[[In-content Ad]]
