WINNEMUCCA - Josh Shaver won the Doc Verner Memorial junior golf tournament held this past Wednesday at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course with an 8-over par 80.
More than 40 junior golfers competed in the tournament.
Josh Rose (81) was second, finishing one shot behind Shaver.
Alyssa Dendary carded an 81 to lead the way in the girls 15- to 17-year-old division, while Ning Landt was second with a 114.
In the boys 13- to 14-year-old age group that played nine holes, Steve Bosch won with a 6-over par 42. Zane Fifield placed second with a round of 53.
On the girls side, Tatyana Carlson was first at 52 and Elise Rose was second with a 54.
Dillon Patterson shot a 51 for nine holes to win the boys 11- to 12-year-old group and Kobe Stoker was second at 53.
In the girls 11- to 12-year-old division, Stacey Horton was first with a score of 78.
Tyler Piquet shot a 48 to win the boys 8- to 10-year-old division, with Gianni Girodano second at 57.
In the girls 8- to 10-year-old division, Lily Landt won with a 39, and Tea Novi was second at 74.[[In-content Ad]]
