Sharon Hammond went to be with the Lord on Jan. 10, 2013, at the age of 70. Sharon was born in Waukegan Ill., to Luigi and Lillian Menduno and lived in Lake County Illinois until 1997. She and her husband, Bob, moved to Winnemucca, Nev., to be near their daughter, Shawn, and her family. Sharon devoted her life to her family and was a wonderful homemaker. She always made her home warm and inviting where all were welcomed to visit,

Sharon was also very active in her church in leading bible studies and prayer meetings. Her other joys were sewing, crafts, crocheting, card making, studying the God's Word, and encouraging others.

Sharon is survived by her husband Robert (Bob). They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on Nov. 19, 2012. She is survived by her children Robert Hammond (Inge), Matt Hammond, Shawn Prothro (Clayton). She is also survived by her grandchildren Stef Synovic (Jon), David Prothro (Keirstyn), Daniel Hammond, Heather Schauer; and her Great-Grandchildren; Maja, Leah, and Nora Synovic, Jadyn Schauer, Harley and Heidi Prothro. She is also survived by her brother Serge Menduno and her sister Carmi Kytosaari.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Luigi and Lillian Menduno and her brother- in- law Bill Kytosaari.

There will be a Memorial Celebration of Life on Jan. 26, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Grass Valley Baptist Church, 4150 W. Thomas Canyon Road, Winnemucca, Nev.
