Second statewide disabilities conference scheduled

The first ever statewide disabilities conference held March 2013 far exceeded initial expectations. The conference drew over 390 attendees - who enjoyed an outstanding program with over 48 sessions in tracks related to adult transition, advocacy, early childhood, education, community inclusion, healthcare, parents/caregiver/family, plus a special all day workshop on Achieving Quality Through Person-Centered Planning and Thinking. The conference received many positive evaluations and more than 90 percent of those responding indicated they were interested in attending a Nevada Disabilities Conference in the future. An overwhelming number of attendees asked, "When is the next one?"

The Nevada Disabilities Conference 2015 (NDC2015) is presented by Family TIES of Nevada and the Nevada Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities which is sure to be a dynamic event where leading experts come together in an exciting forum for change, new abilities and future opportunities. NDC2015 will provide a one-stop platform for connecting to the resources, trainings, best practices and support for creating healthier lives for individuals with developmental disabilities and the families of children with special health care needs.

NDC2015 will be held at The Nugget Resort in Sparks, Nev., on July 20 and 21 in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities. Conference organizers anticipate reaching approximately 700 statewide and national attendees. Conference planning is currently underway.

Sponsorship opportunities are now available. In addition to the many sponsorship benefits, sponsors will receive recognition in newspapers and other forums.
