Second annual Louie Peraldo Golf Tournament to take place Saturday

WINNEMUCCA - The Frontier Community Coalition is hosting the second annual Louie Peraldo Memorial Golf tournament to honor longtime Winnemucca resident Louie Peraldo, who passed away in 2008.

The tournament will take place this Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course. Entry fee is $40 per person including, lunch, a swag bag, golf visor and two raffle tickets. A continental breakfast will take place at 8 a.m.

The 72-person scramble (18 teams - four people a team) is a memorial for Peraldo, who was an active member of the community from the time he moved here in 1944 until his death in 2008. The tournament will consist of four-person teams for a total of 18 teams. Spots are still open for the tournament.

All proceeds from the Louie Peraldo Memorial Family Golf Tournament will go directly to children's and family services that the Coalition supports in Humboldt, Lander and Pershing counties.

Among these services are Project MAGIC, a program for first offenders; the Drug Endangered Children Program, which provides support to children in unsafe situations due to parents' drug-related issues; Rachel's Challenge, an anti-bullying program; and state-certified parenting classes and numerous additional programs.

The charity event will also feature a raffle. Items that will be raffled off include a gift donation from Winnemucca Municipal Golf Pro Rick Longhurst; a golf package and dinner certificates from a number of local restaurants.

There will also be gift baskets given away as part of the raffle.

In addition, if a player makes a hole-in-one, he or she will win an ATV.
