Sean Timothy Wilson (59 years old) of Winnemucca, Nev., died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, from liver failure. He was born to the late George and Lois Wilson in St. Joseph, Mo., on Sept. 10, 1953. Sean graduated from the University of Nevada with a B.S. in Natural Sciences and a Master's in Administrative Education. He married Sunah Wilson in Sparks, Nev., in 1977, and they lived together in Fort Sill, OK, before relocating to Winnemucca, Nev., in 1982.
In 1975, Sean enlisted in the United States Army and served his country in the Second Infantry Division stationed in South Korea where he met his future wife Sunah. He soon specialized in Field Artillery with Howitzers and was promoted to Captain.
His honing of his geometry skill while calculating vectors for fire missions became very foretelling when he became a high school Geometry and Algebra teacher at Albert Lowry High school in Winnemucca, Nev. Sean was active as a past local Union President at Lowry and he was also founder of the Environment Club. He was seen planting and watering trees for much of his career until he retired in 2011 after 30 years in education.
Sean is survived by one son: Sean Wilson Jr., of Reno, Nev.; the love of his life and wife: Sunah Wilson.
His siblings: Mona, Mollie, and Kevin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will be conducted on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. in Fernley at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 14 Veterans Way.
