Scott Ryan Francis, 45, of Rye Patch, passed away on Oct. 14, 2011 (along with his beloved dog Blue).

Scott was born Feb. 4, 1966, to his parents Sandi Houston and Stephen Francis at Bethesda Naval Hospital, Md. His father was in the Air Force and he lived in Maryland, Virginia and Colorado before settling in California, where he lived for 29 years.

Scott moved to Rye Patch three years ago. He was a first responder for the Rye Patch Volunteer Fire Department and worked for the Humboldt River Ranch Association and B & D Construction. Scott loved the outdoors, fishing, four-wheeling, camping, skiing, canoeing down the Humboldt River with his brother and nephew, and his two dogs Blue and Levi.

Scott is survived by his mother and step-father Sandi and Scott Houston; brother Sean and his wife Victoria Francis of San Diego, Calif.; fiancé Pam Jewel of Carson City; step sisters Lisa Destefano and Karie Tienharra of San Jose, Calif.; nieces and nephews Avianna, Stephen, Samantha, Shane Francis of San Diego, Calif.; Marissa Gonzalez of San Diego, Calif.; Mia, Madison Destefano and Joshua Tienharra of San Jose, Calif., and uncles George Francis of Phoenix, Ariz., and Don Lowe of Denver, Colo. He was preceded in death by his father Stephen R. Francis, grandparents Muriel and Jack Francis, grandparents Pearl and Sandy Lowe, and uncle Jack Francis.

Services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 1045 Franklin Ave. in Lovelock on Friday, Nov. 4 , at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at the parish hall.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Scott's name to the Lovelock Animal Shelter P.O. Box 238, Lovelock, NV 89419 or the Rye Patch Volunteer Fire Department 22425 Old Victory Highway, Lovelock NV.

Scott, we all can feel your hand in ours and see your loving face. You haven't gone we feel you here, a love we can't replace. You meant so much to each of us and in our hearts you'll always be. We hope you can see how precious you were to all of us. You touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
