BATTLE MOUNTAIN - The Lander County School Board recognized Wells Fargo and Guadalupe Jacobson for the month of June.

Wells Fargo has been handling the district's accounts for years. The employees are friendly and always make you feel like a good friend.

Wells Fargo also has employees who donate money from their checks to the school. It takes a partnership with the business community to help educate our children.

We are lucky to have such a partnership with Wells Fargo.

The school district also recognized Guadalupe "Lupe" Jacobson, who began volunteering at the Parent Involvement Recruiting Center the first day it opened, and continues to volunteer several hours every day.

She also helps in the Battle Mountain Elementary Schools library classes even though she does not have any children in those classes. She is an amazing, positive and dependable person, and we are lucky to have her spend her time with us, school board officials said.
