School board recognizes volunteers

BATTLE MOUNTAIN - On March 27, the Lander County School Board recognized Joe Quintana, who has been involved with kids and sports since he has been out of school.

Quintana is a fantastic role model and mentor for our kids and community. He is a founding member of Watch D.O.G.S and is on the CTE Advisory and School Improvement Plan committees. He is a great asset to our district.

On April 24, the board recognized Michele Cason, who is the sweetest and a very dedicated person. She is an active volunteer in our schools and donates school supplies for children.

Cason is active in her church and she and the church store donate coats and hats every winter.

She has been a member of the Eleanor Lemaire School Improvement Plan Committee and is heavily involved with the local hospice.

We love having her and glad she is part of our team that helps children succeed, school board members said.[[In-content Ad]]
