McDERMITT - The Say When Casino and Restaurant has been a family-owned and operated fixture in the community of McDermitt since 1964, and now owner Chloe Dufurrena says it's for sale.
The asking price is $1.25 million and reportedly there have been a couple of different parties showing some interest in the property.
Sitting a mere 100 yards south of the Oregon border, right across the state line in Nevada, the Say When has been a well-known northern Nevada stopover for travelers up and down U.S. 95 between Winnemucca and Oregon or Idaho locations to the north.
The family-owned and operated casino is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Although the bar has some local competition, the Say When Cafe is the only restaurant option between Winnemucca and Jordan Valley, Ore.
Dufurrena said the Say When is for sale because she's retirement age and ready for a rest. Her mother built the original part of the Say When, which has had three additions and remodelings since then.
The Say When casino, bar and restaurant are listed with Coldwell Banker realtor Bob Fredlund.
