Santiago James Martinez was born on June 26, 1922 in Cuba New Mexico to Eulalia and Julian Martinez. Santiago passed away peacefully on February 7, 2014 while visiting family members in Redding California.
Santiago met and married the love of his life Mary Rose Oliver in 1946. He was a foreman in the Southern Pacific Railroad for 50 plus years. After retiring he worked as a Security Guard for the Winners and Legends Casino's. Santiago will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Santiago is survived by his children Julian Martinez, Mary Hinkley (Dan), Carol Naranjo, Eliseo Martinez (Ginger), Therese Barragan, Juan Martinez (Karie), Charlie Martinez aka Chris Rivera, Dorthy Parree (George), Jerry Martinez (Theresa), Janiece Martinez, Jesse Martinez, Cathy Felton (Pete), Frank Martinez, Bobby Martinez.
Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren survive him.
His wife Mary and his parents predecease him.
A private family viewing was held on Monday February 10, 2014 at 10:30am in Redding, CA at Blair's Cremation and Burial Services.[[In-content Ad]]
