CARSON CITY (AP) - Nevada cars will soon be sporting bright blue plates to mark 150 years of statehood.
Gov. Brian Sandoval signed AB24 on last week, giving the green light for the DMV to start producing the specialty plates.
The limited edition design closely matches the state flag, with a "Battle Born" seal on a royal blue field. The words "The Silver State" line the bottom, alongside the dates 1864 and 2014.
Sandoval says the plates will go on sale this summer for $32.50, with $25 from each sale helping support the state's 150th anniversary festivities.
The specialty plates will be available until Oct. 31, 2016, two years after Nevada's official 150th birthday.[[In-content Ad]]
