Sanders, who also won the tournament in 2006, shot a 3-under par 69 on Saturday. He followed that up with a 71 in windy conditions on Sunday to shoot a 4-under par 140 and beat Ryan Mitchell by a shot. Mitchell carded rounds of 70 and 71 for a 3-under par 141.
Jacob Wilner was third with a 2-under 142 after two consecutive rounds of 71, while Matt Vanderbeek, the 2011 3A state champion from Fallon, was fourth at 1 under 143. Brett Okimura rounded out the five with a 144, including a 70 on Sunday, which was the best in the field.
Sean Miller and Dick Wenzel tied for sixth with scores of 145, David Nelson was eighth at 146 and John Montross and Cameron White tied for ninth at 149.
Fallon's Scott Smith, who won two of the last three championships at the Winnemucca Amateur, recently turned pro and played in the U.S. Open in San Francisco last weekend, missing the cut.
Joe Dendary led the way in the net division with a 13-under par 131, easily outdistancing the field by nine shots. Dendary recorded scores of 64 and 67. Greg Brown was second with a 4-under par 140 and Tommy Lee and Ken Kannier were third and fourth, respectively, at 143 and 144.
Max Bunch placed fifth with a 147, Keith Logan and Bob Rice tied for sixth at 148 and Ken Mullins was eighth with a 149. John Moore finished ninth with a 150 and Roger Wade closed out the top 10 with a 152.
