Sand Dune Diggers widen advantage in Winnemucca Pool League standings

Roeder out in front in Top Gun standings

WINNEMUCCA - Sand Dune Diggers (18-2) defeated Rack Pack 13-4 in a battle of the top two teams in week 21 action of the Winnemucca Pool League. Sand Dune Diggers lead with 238 out of a possible 357 points.

Rack Pack (16-4) remained in second place with 217, but fell further behind the leader. The Losers (14-7) defeated Ringers 12-5 to maintain their third-place standing with 211 points.

Cheers (14-7) are fourth with 204 points and Club 40 (10-11) rounded out the top five with 194 points.

Cassidy's Outlaws (10-11) is sixth with 178 points, while The Executers (10-11) stayed in seventh place 176 points. Hole in the Wall (7-14) is eighth with 167 points; Sand Lizards (9-12) are ninth with 162 points and Miners (8-13) round out the top 10 with 152 points. The Breakers (5-16) and Ringers (3-18) finish out the standings.

In other week 21 action, Club 40 beat The Executers 9-8; Hole in The Wall defeated Cassidy's Outlaws 9-8, Cheers knocked off Miners 11-6 and Sand Lizards beat The Breakers 10-7.

Mike Ethington leads the individual standings with a 9.50 average and seven wins. Jake Roeder (9.25) is second; Mike Hughes (9.25) is third and Dee Mallory (9.25) and Harold Brown (9.25) are fourth and fifth, respectively.

Roeder leads the Top Gun standings, while Robert Shell (9.16) is second and Ted Garcia (9.16) third. Ed Castellanos (8.78) and Wayne Elder (8.53) are fourth and fifth, respectively.

To be eligible for the Top Gun standings, a player must have played at least 56 games.
