Sand Dune Diggers stay in front in Winnemucca Pool League

Ted Garcia out in front in Top Gun standings

WINNEMUCCA - Sand Dune Diggers (15-2) defeated Cheers 11-6 in week 17 action to hold on to their lead in the Winnemucca Pool League standings for a 11th consecutive week with 192 out of a possible 289 points.

Rack Pack (15-2) remained in second place with 182 points after defeating The Executers 10-7. The Losers (11-6) kept pace and maintained their third-place standing with a 11-6 win over Cassidy's Outlaws and they have 172 points.

Cheers (11-6) are fourth with 163 points and Club 40 (8-9) is fifth with 157 points as the top five stayed the same.

Cassidy's Outlaws (9-8) is sixth with 148 points, while Hole in the Wall (6-11) moved into seventh place 141 points. The Executers (8-91) dropped a spot to eighth with 140 points; Sand Lizards (6-11) are ninth with 121 points and Miners (6-11) round out the top 10 with 113 points. The Breakers (4-13) and Ringers (3-14) finish out the standings.

In other week 17 action, Club 40 beat Sand Lizards 13-4; Miners defeated Ringers 12-5 and Hole in the Wall beat The Breakers 13-4.

Mike Ethington leads the individual standings with a 9.50 average and seven wins. Mike Hughes (9.25) is second; Harold Brown (9.25) is third and Ted Garcia (9.21) and Jake Roeder (9.13) are fourth and fifth, respectively.

Garcia leads the Top Gun standings, while Roeder is second and Robert Shell (9.00) third. Ed Castellanos (8.85) and Wayne Elder (8.62) are fourth and fifth, respectively.

To be eligible for the Top Gun standings, a player must have played at least 45 games.
