Ruth also volunteered at Winnemucca Hospital Auxiliary and the community thrift store, and was honored for her hours of volunteer service. In 1969 Dub joined Simplot Soilbuilders which took them to Blackfoot, Idaho, and later to Winnemucca where they stayed until he retired. In 1987 they moved to Boise to be closer to family. Ruth and Dub enjoyed ballroom dancing and always eagerly traveled to family functions and sporting events.
