Winnemucca Rural Fire District responded to a vehicle fire near the Humboldt Readymix batch plant on West Winnemucca Boulevard at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 27. Torrey Sheen, assistant fire chief for the WRFD and the incident commander, said a container on a truck hauling trash had caught on fire. The bed of the truck was tilted down and allowed firefighters access to the burning container. A first attack truck and a tanker truck responded to the scene and firefighters used about 2,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. The truck was not damaged and the driver was not injured. The cause of the fire was unknown.[[In-content Ad]]
