Respite Care is a free or low cost program offered through the NV Rural Counties RSVP Program which provides caregivers with essential breaks. Trained RSVP volunteers provide a breaks for two to four hours up to several times a week to help prevent the exhaustion experienced by caregivers struggling with the overwhelming stress and 24/7 responsibility of providing in-home care. Our mission is to provide respite and caregiver support services to Carson City and the surrounding counties senior and disabled population to help families avoid premature institutionalization of their loved one or themselves.
After acceptance into the program and completing training, volunteers receive a stipend of $175.00 per month plus mileage reimbursement. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or if you are in need of assistance and would like to learn more about our program you are welcome to attend the training or contact Meri Coury with RSVP at (775)623-2748.
