Roy D. Miller

Roy D. Miller, 70 of Bridgeport, Nebraska passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.

As per his request, he was cremated and there will be no services. Memorials may be given to the family to be designated at a later time. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.bbchapels.com. Bridgeport Memorial Chapel & Cremation Services assisted the family with arrangements.

Roy was born on August 10, 1943 in Rushville, Nebraska to Everett and Ione (Jacobs) Miller. He graduated from Mitchell High School and attended Scottsbluff Junior College. He was united in marriage to Patricia Keller on January 9, 1966 in Valentine, Nebraska. He entered the U.S. Army, serving in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina for 2 years and was honorably discharged. They moved to Gering, NE and joined the Police force in Gering and Scotts Bluff Co Sheriff's office before moving to McGrew, NE where they raised his three children. They left Nebraska in 1990 to work at Couer Rochester Silver Mine in Lovelock, NV as a haul truck driver for 12 years before retiring, returning to Bridgeport, Nebraska in 2004.

Roy was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was a huge role model to his family with all his love, kindness & support. He was his grandchildren's biggest cheerleader and was proud of them and their accomplishments daily. Roy was an amazing man who touched many lives; those who had the honor of knowing him will miss visiting with him, his good advice, words of encouragement and of course, his jokes. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Patricia; children Sheila Benson of Lincoln, CA, Lisa (Brian) Peters of Bridgeport, NE and Rocky (Cathy) Miller of Gillette, WY; grandchildren: Matthew Benson, Nichole Benson, Alyssa Peters, Bryce Hyatt and Dana Miller and great granddaughter Isabella. His brothers; Jim (Marita) Miller of Bayard, NE and Terry Miller of Dallas, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, infant son and a great granddaughter.[[In-content Ad]]
